A branded employee network for RSK’s LGBTQ+ community

Our brief was to create an online social media presence for RSK’s LGBTQ+ employee network. The brand would represent members and allies in a positive manner and promote RSK as a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people can thrive.

The work involved designing two logo types, branded materials such as banners and patterns, and merchandise that would be distributed around RSK Group to raise the profile and representation of queer staff across all business units.

The main challenge was making the rainbow colours work across all media. Our design team found that using a soft gradient makes the rainbow image look smoother but that this does not work on all coloured backgrounds. This led the team to develop a white-out version that could be used in situations where the coloured version of the logo might be unsuitable.

In the LGBTQ+ community, there are still many places globally where people don’t have the freedom to live honestly and openly. Even in the UK, discrimination and violence against the LGBTQ+ community is still more prevalent than ever.
